Dr. Indrajit N. Patel, the esteemed principal of BVM (Baroda Vidyapith Mahavidyalaya), has emerged as a prominent advocate for sustainable development and a green economy at the BRICS Congress. Addressing a global audience, Dr. Patel emphasized the critical role that green technologies, renewable energy, and sustainable practices must play in shaping the future of economies worldwide.

During his address, Dr. Patel highlighted the need for collaborative efforts among BRICS nations—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—to combat climate change and create eco-friendly economic frameworks. He underscored how embracing green technologies could not only mitigate environmental damage but also stimulate job creation and economic growth in emerging markets.
Dr. Patel also stressed the importance of education in promoting environmental sustainability. By integrating green economy principles into academic curricula, he believes that future generations can be better equipped to tackle the pressing challenges of climate change and resource depletion.
The Congress, which gathered leaders, experts, and policymakers from across the globe, served as a platform for Dr. Patel to showcase the pioneering initiatives being implemented at BVM, including renewable energy projects on campus and efforts to reduce the institution’s carbon footprint.
With his continued advocacy, Dr. Patel hopes to inspire other educational institutions and governments to adopt similar strategies, paving the way for a more sustainable and prosperous future.
“Under this initiative, new courses are being made available to equip students with the necessary skills for thriving in a green economy. These courses focus on renewable energy, sustainable business practices, and environmental management, ensuring that students are prepared to contribute meaningfully to eco-friendly industries and innovations.”
“During the summit, various aspects of the protection of water resources and sustainable water management were discussed. Experts from across the BRICS nations shared insights on innovative technologies and policies aimed at preserving water quality, promoting efficient usage, and ensuring access to clean water for all.”
