8 Dead, Several Injured in Nashik Crash After Tempo Hits Truck; Victims Returning from Religious Event

Eight people were tragically killed, and several others were injured in a horrific accident on Sunday at Dwarka Circle in Nashik district, Maharashtra. The incident occurred when a tempo, carrying a group of passengers, collided with a truck laden with iron rods.

The victims were returning from a religious event in Niphad when the accident took place. The tempo, which was traveling at high speed, crashed into the truck under unclear circumstances, leading to the fatalities. Several passengers sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Local police and emergency services were quick to respond, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. The truck driver, who sustained minor injuries, has been taken into custody for questioning.

The district administration has expressed condolences to the victims’ families and assured swift action in the ongoing investigation. The event has sent shockwaves through the community, as many of the victims were reportedly devotees who had attended the religious gathering.

The tragic incident occurred near an Ayyappa temple at approximately 7:30 PM when a tempo, carrying 16 passengers, collided with a truck carrying iron rods. The passengers were returning from a religious event in Niphad, and the tempo was heading toward the CIDCO area in Nashik when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

As a result of the collision, several passengers were killed on the spot, and many others sustained severe injuries. Some of the injured are in critical condition. The impact of the crash led to significant chaos, and emergency rescue operations were promptly initiated by police, fire brigade personnel, and local residents.

The injured have been transferred to the district hospital and private facilities for treatment. Due to the severity of some injuries, authorities fear that the death toll could rise as medical personnel continue to assess the situation.

The truck driver, who was reportedly unharmed, is being questioned by authorities as investigations into the cause of the accident continue.
