Palghar Blast: Family’s Attempt to Alter Perfume Expiry Dates Leads to Explosion, 4 Injured

The blast in Palghar, Maharashtra, occurred while a family was attempting to change the expiry dates on perfume bottles.

In a disturbing incident in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, four members of a family, including two minors, were injured in an explosion. The explosion occurred in a flat where the family was attempting to alter the expiry dates on perfume bottles. According to a report from news agency PTI, the explosion took place during the dangerous attempt to tamper with the bottles.

The authorities have yet to provide further details on the nature of the incident, but it has been confirmed that the injured individuals were immediately taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. The severity of their injuries has not been disclosed. The police are investigating the matter to determine the exact cause of the blast and the methods the family used in their attempt.

This incident highlights the potential dangers of attempting such risky actions, as tampering with chemicals or products can result in severe accidents. The authorities have advised the public to avoid engaging in similar activities, stressing the importance of safety when handling volatile substances.

The explosion occurred on the night between Thursday and Friday in Room No. 112 of Roshni Apartment, located in Nalla Sopara, on the outskirts of Mumbai, according to officials. The victims have been identified as Mahavir Vadar (41), Sunita Vadar (38), Kumar Harshvardhan Vadar (9), and Kumari Harshada Vadar (14).

The blast took place when the family attempted to change the expiry dates on perfume bottles, an activity that likely involved flammable substances, the official explained. As a result of the explosion, Kumar Harshvardhan is currently receiving treatment at Life Care Hospital in Nalla Sopara, while the other victims are being treated at Oscar Hospital, also in the same area.

Authorities are investigating the incident and have warned against such dangerous activities, emphasizing the risks associated with handling flammable materials in unsafe conditions.
