New Delhi, Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the largest mobility expo in India, expected to feature over 100 new launches across automobiles, components, and technologies.

Reflecting on the legacy of industry leaders like the Late Osamu Suzuki, former chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation, and the Late Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, PM Modi stated their contributions would continue to inspire India’s mobility sector.

In his address, PM Modi pointed out several factors contributing to the auto sector’s growth, including India’s large population, expanding middle class, rapid urbanization, and ongoing infrastructure development. He added that the government’s ₹11 lakh crore infrastructure investment would further drive demand for vehicles.

The five-day expo is being held across three major venues: Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, and India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida.

“PM Gati Shakti” was also highlighted by the Prime Minister as a game-changer for multi-modal connectivity, reducing logistics costs, and making India the most competitive in the logistics space.

On the growth of EVs, PM Modi shared impressive statistics, noting that in the last decade, EV sales surged by 640%, from 2,600 units annually to more than 16.8 lakh units in 2024. He projected an eight-fold increase in EV sales by the end of the decade, emphasizing India’s pivotal role in shaping the future of the automotive industry.

The Expo is expected to attract over 5 lakh visitors from around the world and feature more than 5,100 international participants. Over 100 new product and technology launches are expected, with significant showcases from India’s automobile sector.

The event also saw the presence of several union ministers, including Nitin Gadkari, H.D. Kumaraswamy, and Piyush Goyal, alongside leaders from the automobile industry.
